Sleek and contemporary, the new TSU9600 features a flush-mounted 3.7” VGA screen (640X480) that displays images, icons and text with stunning clarity and quality. In addition to offering a dramatic improvement in viewing angle when compared to recessed touch screens, the unit’s flat display showcases a modern look with a high-gloss, black front panel, blue-backlit buttons and a docking station that emits a comforting white glow. This sophisticated remote also supports WAV sounds and features a discreet, built-in stylus holder.
“Designed by installers, made by Philips,” the Pronto TSU9600 serves as a blank canvas for custom installers to design the perfect, personalized remote for their clients. To create that ultimate in customization, the new ProntoEdit Professional™ software is equipped with built-in wizards for basic programming and macro creation. The software also makes more efficient use of configurations already programmed, cutting down on repetitive work. For easy programming, the ProntoEdit Professional offers access to one of the largest databases of up-to-date model-number equipment codes.
“The increasing number of interconnected audio/video devices and the growth of in-home networks is stimulating the need for simplified control,” said Andre Lalande, director of marketing for remote control systems, Philips Consumer Electronics, North America. “The Pronto TSU9600 goes beyond, enhancing the method for accessing and experiencing the multi-media content in the most complete and convenient manner. Philips’ exciting new relationships with Escient and Lutron elevate the TSU9600 into the ultimate accessory for the consumer who demands superior control.”
To meet installers’ need for reliability, the Pronto TSU9600 offers a best-in-class Wi-Fi® wireless link for complete home control. The technology is made ultra-reliable via a unique Pronto protocol on top of the link, to ensure that codes and precision macro timings are perfectly preserved during transmission.
Philips is actively working with a number of leading companies to ensure seamless integration of home automation devices. Exciting relationships with Escient’s FireBall Media Manager and Lutron RadioRA lighting control demonstrate Philips’ commitment to delivering unmatched power, reliability and simplicity for controlling the digital home. By teaming up with Escient’s reliable and efficient FireBall Music Sharing Protocol, Philips brings simplicity to multi-room audio so consumers can easily access their multimedia content. Because of the remote’s advanced capabilities, there is no need to turn on the television to start listening to music throughout the house. Instead, consumers can use the full on-screen user interface, displayed on the crisp, flush-mounted VGA screen and scrolling wheel to control the music library.
With Lutron RadioRA lighting compatibility, the TSU9600 controls lighting and blinds to enhance ease-of-use, safety and comfort throughout the home. On-screen feedback from the remote’s screen signals which lights are on. The mood settings enable the room to be illuminated according to the desired mood at the touch of a single button – individual dimmers and switches do not need to be controlled.
The TSU9600 is compatible with two optional extenders to amplify control throughout the home. Philips’ RFX9400 provides premier Wi-Fi and wired network compatibility and individual, addressable IR ports. The RFX9600 RS232 output can be hard wired to equipment to ensure commands are carried out exactly as they are programmed. Both extenders boast power sensing of
equipment and contact closure for maximum reliability.
Now available, the TSU9600 has a suggested retail price of $1,299. The RFX9400 and RFX9600 retail for $299 and $599, respectively.
