Here it is folks. You no longer need to look at the artist renderings of the new Philips Pronto Professional 9600 expected to be announced at the CEDIA Expo in just a few weeks.
Now we have this pretty picture, so let's review what we know about the new Philips Pronto Professional 9600:
- The Pronto Professional TSU9600 is an IR controller that will have "ultra-reliable wireless extenders, and more functionality for multi-room solutions."
- "The smooth topped unit features a "soft feel" ergonomic grip with an elegant metallic finish" and looks to be similar in design to the Philips RC9800i
- The unit will be programmed with a new software called ProntoEdit Professional featuring:
- The capability for an installer to separately store and manage the codes of the equipment he most frequently uses for a custom install.
- The unit’s IR code learning capability has been significantly improved, offering an unprecedented 99.99% coverage.
- A built-in Channel Wizard enables the creation of an extremely reliable channel macro, with only a few mouse clicks.
- PC-to-Pronto downloading is accelerated by a factor 10.
- WAV file compatibility is included for linking spoken instructions to a button.
- Russian and Hebrew fonts are supported.
- And, from the most recent teaser... "The 3.7-inch touchscreen has an amazing 640 x 480 (full VGA) display, giving it a higher pixel density than any current touchscreen home control unit. The display has a virtually unbreakable protective screen cover that eliminates a potential cause of failure in touchscreen devices."
- Finally, and probably the most telling feature list of the Pronto Professional comes from this screen shot posted by the ProntoTeam on RemoteCentral.com. This screen shows support for RS232, Power Sensing and other features expected of high-end controllers.
